Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at British Airways?
I have had an amazing experience at British Airways, starting as an intern after the first year of my degree. I was able to gain hands on experience and see the aviation world up close, at one of the busiest airports in the world, and what the BA operation looks like. I was then a Campus Ambassador to promote our emerging talent opportunities, and I have now become an Engineering Technical Graduate. BA has been extremely supportive, fast-paced, dynamic, and has propelled me to new heights in terms of my skillset, my knowledge, and the people I get to interact with.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I maintain the safety and reliability of the vast fleet at British Airways through rotational placements across Engineering such as eOps, Fleet Technical, Flight Ops, Technical Support, Engineering Operations, and many more. I really enjoy the fast paced nature of the role where no day is the same, getting up close to aircraft, and also looking ahead into the future of the fleet by focusing on key details and future implications.

British Airways provides support and development from day 1. From a soft skills perspective in interacting with various departments, teams, and people from all across the business, to a technical skills perspective in directly interfacing with aircraft systems, parts, and the vast array of systems BA use to manage the operation, safety, performance, reliability, and information network of its fleet.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to British Airways?
I would research BA and focus on the passion you have. Why does BA stand out to you, and not only what can you bring to the role, however what can BA offer you? Research BA's initiatives, programmes, current transformation objectives, as well as financial results/performance results. Show why you have an interest and what it is you can get involved with, and how this relates to the competencies you can bring to the role. Key skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, time management, workload management. Think of areas you have demonstrated this, and how they will be beneficial for your career at BA.
