Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked under managers or assistant managers to complete necessary documents for client projects in the transactions assurance team. I assisted on several client projects which ranged from bonds, special audits and audits.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was tasked to complete documents for the clients by myself, but was able to ask for help if needed and documents were reviewed several times after completion.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my excel skills significantly along with several other Microsoft office application skills. I have also developed my time management skills and learnt lots about audit and assurance and what is required per a standard audit and how this varies for special audits or transactions assurance projects.

Everyone I worked with was extremely supportive and helpful, if I was confused or stuck on something. They made it a great experience!

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship at Deloitte, it was a brilliant opportunity to get an insight into what being part of the transactions assurance team is like at Deloitte. Whilst I also got an idea of what it would be like to be a part of other assurance teams and L&C audit teams.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte

Researching the company is really important to know the societal initiatives they’re involved in as well as how they split their various departments and teams. Focus on whether the companies values and your personal values align, if they do, show this as much as you can through your application.
