Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I'm a Business Change and Performance Lead intern at Centrica Business Solutions, working within the Operations and Maintenance team. Day-to-day, I focus on developing performance dashboards for engineers and shaping a solar O&M proposition aimed at improving service for undermaintained sites and existing customers.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my internship. I led two key projects—one focused on improving engineer performance through dashboards, and another developing a solar O&M proposition. I had ownership over research, stakeholder engagement, and presenting recommendations, which gave me real accountability and impact.

I received a strong level of support and guidance throughout my internship. My manager and wider team were approachable and regularly checked in, offering feedback and direction when needed. I also had the freedom to take initiative, which helped me grow in confidence and independence.
