Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On a daily basis, I worked on audit documentation, data analytics in which I created pivot tables and charts in Excel, and took client meeting minutes. I improved my technical skills via learning resources of Deloitte and actively sought new tasks when available. The role involved a balance of analytical work, collaboration, and continuous learning in a supportive team environment.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Understanding the business gave me insight into how audit supports wider client objectives and how roles - from analyst to manager - contribute at each stage of an engagement. I saw how responsibilities grow with experience and how teamwork and review processes ensure quality. This experience helped me understand the full audit cycle and the clear progression path within audit, all in an environment that encourages learning, development, and long-term growth.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed new skills in data analysis by working with large datasets and using multiple functions in Excel. I improved my written communication through drafting client meeting minutes and enhanced my time management by handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines. I strengthened my attention to detail through document reviews and learned how to approach clients professionally. Using learning resources, I also deepened my understanding of audit processes and best practices in client interaction.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was supportive, collaborative, and focused on growth. Everyone was approachable, open to questions, and genuinely invested in helping interns learn. Mistakes were treated as part of the learning process, and curiosity was encouraged. There was a strong sense of teamwork, with regular communication and shared goals. The overall atmosphere was professional yet welcoming, making it easy to build confidence, ask for help, and stay motivated throughout the internship.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, as it gave me hands-on experience in audit and clear understanding of day-to-day responsibilities. I liked the balance of technical work, client interaction, and teamwork. The supportive culture made learning enjoyable, and I felt motivated by the responsibility I was given. It confirmed my interest in audit and made me excited about the prospect of returning in a graduate role. The experience was both rewarding and encouraging for my career goals.
