Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Technology Risk entails ensuring the compliance of clients systems and applications and that they have suitable controls in place to effectively manage risks. Day to day can involve reviewing and documenting evidence, internal and client calls as well as reviewing controls.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was assigned smaller tasks to start with to become comfortable with the new working environment and slowly began working on tasks that are more complex and hold more responsibility. As well as being invited to client calls and speaking briefly and taking notes in them.

I have learnt how to interact with clients, as well as better communication and teamwork skills as a whole. Learning how to collaborate across different teams, contribute effectively and ask for help when unsure on something.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support and guidance, and was pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and helpful everyone in the team was regardless of how senior they were. There is always someone willing to help you and answer your questions. All questions were welcome no matter how trivial they may be.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very inclusive and friendly. Everyone is happy to chat as well as getting work done. The atmosphere was a relaxed working environment and not as daunting as I thought it would be.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
This internship allowed me to grow not only professionally and technically, but also personally, allowing me to learn more about myself and how I work. This experience has been invaluable to my growth as a person and for my future career. I enjoyed every day of the internship and was always looking forward to the next day.
