Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Helping with day to day work with a range of people from my team varying from basic admin to more technical tasks.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Due to having to be professionally qualified to work on more technical work and providing advice to clients, responsibility was limited. However, that being said the work provided was still of a technical nature and required accuracy and intuition.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Support network was very good. We were provided with a buddy, a more junior member of the team for day to day help, and a counsellor, a senior manager within the team who helped with larger questions and the structure of our internship.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture was very relaxed and understanding. As long as you were seen to be getting your work done and not distracting others, there was no one enforcing being bang on time or a strict dress code. Additionally, people on my team were very happy to put time aside to talk to me about their time at the company and their experiences.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement. It provided a great insight into the world of tax and the procedure required to become qualified. Although work was fairly limited at times, the work I did do was engaging and useful. The office culture was very good and I liked how eager people were to talk to you and put time aside for you.

What advice would you give to others applying to EY
People and networking skills are as important if not more important than technical skills. You aren't expected to know great technical detail about the world of tax however they are looking for people who are willing to ask questions and engage with others.
