Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working in a school, mentoring students to improve attendance, behaviour, curriculum, development.
Includes In class support, 1:1 mentoring , extra curriculum support etc

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, we were actively encouraged by city year and the school we volunteered at to lead and run events, clubs and help out with trips etc.
For example doing a red tall for city year, like a TED talk about something we’re passionate about. This really helped

So much. All the staff at city year genuinely care and want us to develop as people. They are always there for us when we need advice or help. They are genuinely incredible
