Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

City Year UK is a programme that exiles in giving young people the opportunity to build their skills in a multitude of areas. Their programme is designed to make mentors more employable, better leaders, and find the confidence they never knew they had.
An amazing programme that I recommend anyone who can apply, to get involved in.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

A lot of responsibility. I was responsible for setting up Classrooms for students who found specific subjects difficult and I had to Mentor a multitude of kids from the start of the academic year.

A lot of guidance from senior, more experienced staff. Mentorship from both managers and external mentors supplied by the programme.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The atmosphere promotes inclusion and diversity. Celebrates culture and invites a wide range of people to be part of a wider family. The atmosphere is comforting and accepts everyone.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed it, I did not regret joining this program as it showed me how many skills I have that are appreciated across the whole wider world of industries. Making me more employable.
