Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is ensuring the children at my nursery are engaged and cared for. Throughout the day i work with my team to ensure there is sufficient provision in the room and all children are engaged. I help to ensure that meal and snack times are assisted with smoothly, and I carry out daily care tasks such as ensuring the children's nappies are done, helping with nap times and ensuring they are emotionally regulated when children become sad.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
There isn't a day i come in to work and dread it may be more stressful or bad. I enjoy the role of my job and feel it is so organised. I come into work and immediately know what I am doing. Myself and my team work really well together to run the room and follow the routine. I enjoy coming in and seeing the connections and bonds I have built with the children, and how they are progressing in development each day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Working in this job has gained me so many various skills. From patience to creativity I can now apply a variety of skills in my day to day practice. One main skill I have learnt is adaptability. Not every day is the same, so when we have an unsettled child I am able to adapt to their needs at that specific time and help them. I have also really gained creativity. With a new theme every week i have found myself enjoying becoming creative and creating a new environment for the children to engage in, with new activities, provision and tufftrays.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is structured. As an apprentice I feel I am working with a supportive environment where I feel no different to any other practitioner. I come into work and I know my job role and tasks, and how I can achieve them with support right by my side. Following my apprenticeship I feel well guided and organised in my learning, where i apply it to everyday practice and grow more and more
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a great amount of support from my employer, and i am so grateful for everything. I got offered a job part time whilst i was completing my studies at college, and then went into working more hours before i was going to go to university. When it came to my last day I broke down and found it too hard to leave, and i was then offered to complete my level 3 in early years education and I'm so happy with my journey. I feel supported with regular catch up meetings, and i know i can go to my employer with help and i will recieve it on the same day
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive sufficient support from my training provider. With regular observations carried out based on practice within the room, the feedback I receive guides me on training I need to complete to enable me to work towards my qualification and guide me to have the right qualities and skills for when I pass
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As i am learning every day from working practical and completing my qualification, i feel i am gradually performing better as work goes on. With the topics that i learn, i will work and notice that this fits in with what i am doing my assignment on, and my work ethic and understanding grows.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
My work gives us opportunities to get together outside of work, such as christmas do's and even summer do's. This is a social activity where we can all get loose and know eachother more.
