I am a senior in my team in Business Advisory. My day to day is supporting junior staff with accounts prep, preparing accounts, tax returns (corporation and income tax), VAT returns and other ad-hoc work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It can be tough but I do enjoy the learning. It's evenly spaced out and there is lots of support.

I am learning new skills every day. Whether it is software skills or soft skills to use in the work place. The skills days throughout my apprenticeship help with the additional non-technical skills to use in the work place.

A lot, they are always on the other side of the phone or e-mail if we need anything. Very open-door kind of place.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Loads. I am learning things that you can't just pick up and tying all of the knowledge together to see the bigger picture which makes me a better advisor.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do lots of social activities. At least once a month we either do a meal or bowling, quiz night or bingo etc

Yes
Why?
It is a very collaborative, non-toxic place of work. Everyone is nice, there is endless support and they really invest in people. I have come so far in just 4 years of working here. About to be promoted and I have not even qualified yet.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PKF Francis Clark?
Be yourself, do not come into this thinking you have to be a certain type of person to fit in. Most accountants are introverted and I definitely am not. Just show your commmitted and have aspirations! They will invest in you if you invest in them.
