Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Roofing Apprentice. I have been learning how to install flat roof systems (liquids, RBM, Single Ply), Repairing damages on roofs, Preparing areas for work and installation, Following detail drawings to complete work to a high standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the apprenticeship. I have made friends and learned so much since starting as I had no experience in constructions whatsoever and now I am predicted Distinctions in my Exams and can now confidently install Flat roof systems on my own.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting I have developed my customer service, learned how to safely work on construction sites, learned how to install flat roofs, and developed my Maths and English skills. Learned the British Standards and building regulations relevant to my work.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

We get a timetable for our learning and each day is structured for the theory, practical, and the prevent and safeguarding lessons. when we come in we know what system we are learning and what lessons have been planned for us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive of my apprenticeship. Throughout my course I have been given support for my theory and practical learning, financial support so I can comfortably complete my course without financial worries, mental health and wellbeing support, and additional learning support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Langley offer support for mental health and wellbeing, safeguarding, drug and alcohol, financial advice, if we have problems with our personal or work life, additional learning for our work outside of the apprenticeship minimum required, and generally will help with things we ask for.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I need my skills card to do the work I can without supervision. The knowledge and experience I gained to get my qualification through Langley's apprenticeship will allow me to complete my work at a high standard and build a good reputation for myself and earn more money.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My work encourage us to participate in sport events, family day outs, charity fund raisers, seasonal departmental meals, social value days, internal social events and competitions., and volunteering days such as litter picking and helping at care homes.
