Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves learning the trade hands-on while assisting the trained engineers in various plumbing tasks. I'm actively involved in all work, gaining a great understanding and my days are a mix of learning, working, and gradually taking on more responsibilities as I build my skills and knowledge.

I am constantly learning and will continue to do so until i complete my course and no doubt throughout my career.

We know exactly what we have to do and when. I have meeting with my employer every 3 months and college the same.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Employer actively encourages me to learn more. I can ask questions any time i need too and i am allowed to practice and make mistakes without judgment.

I feel that my qualification through my training provider has significantly enhanced my ability to perform in my role. The training provided a strong foundation of knowledge, practical skills, and industry-relevant insights that I can apply directly to my day-to-day responsibilities. It also boosted my confidence and problem-solving capabilities, enabling me to take on tasks more efficiently and contribute more effectively to the team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are a few great extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. We have a monthly company breakfast which is a nice way to catch up with colleagues in a more relaxed setting. There are also yearly events like our summer social and Christmas party, which are always well-organized and a lot of fun. These events help build a strong sense of community and give everyone a chance to connect outside of the usual work environment.

Be yourself. The company really are customer focused and so as long as you can show you have good communication, willing to learn and have the ability to work as a team then you will get on well.
