Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Typing from dictation including letters and attendance notes. Reception duties, answering the phones and dealing with clients one-to-one. Making calls to companies asking for updates or specific pieces of information. Collecting the post and milk and completing general office duties.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed being able to learn more about business and the specific processes involved such as business finance and management as well as the project management side of my apprenticeship. By gaining experience in the Legal world this has enabled me to further progress existing skills as well as gaining new ones and experience in the meantime.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have been able to develop my communication skills by answering internal and external queries. This has been by different communication systems such as the phone or by email. I have also been able to enhance my IT skills by using more complex systems such as the case management system I use for files.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I have been provided with a training plan for my progression through the company to keep up to date with my programme. This was provided by both Hewitts Solicitors and ITEC who have been able to support me using these documents. I was also given a delivery timetable for when I would be learning with ITEC which enabled me to organise myself and give me time to complete work I have been set.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
In the workplace, I have a mentor that I am easily able to go to if I need any help with anything. She is there to support me if I need more time on any ITEC work and need a break from my day-to-day duties.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have received a significant amount of support from my training provider. This has come in the form of wellbeing checks as well as monthly review to ensure that I am able to keep up with the work I am being given as well as maintaining the quality of the work I am producing. I was also set deadlines for work and was therefore able to organise myself appropriately for the work I needed to do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that my qualification helps me perform better by having a deeper understanding of the business and the processes that take place. It helps me in understanding why certain checks need to be made, especially when looking into the legislation that is specific to my workplace. I will be able to them apply this to my new job role on completion of my apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
My workplace is involved in lots of different charity events to try and raise money for our nominated charity. Last year the company was able to raise money through doing a bake-off in the different offices, there has also been opportunities to be sponsored when doing challenges such as the Three Peaks Challenge.
