Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I would ensure that on a daily basis compliance is being achieved accordingly, this by ensuring documentation is being updated, conducting walk-rounds of the facility, reporting hazards or risks, and assisting people with general concerns on an operational level.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As time has come along, I have been gaining a qualification and developing myself into a full time role. The apprenticeship has taught me a lot however the experience i am gaining from being in different situations has helped me big time. The people in the workplace have also made it easier as you can always have a laugh which is important for me.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have heavily developed my communication skills and confidence in regards to public speaking, not only with internal customers (colleagues), but also external customers (e.g. contractors). These skills are needed for when being the front face of health and safety as you come under lots of queries and also need to engage people to buy into the need for what we do. I have also developed my skills and understanding of the need for health and safety and the skills of managing the safety of a large facility like Expect, being put through my IOSH course and other training programmes has made a large impact on my sills development.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured, the course is online so every 2-3 month we would have a 3-4 hour long workshop, every month i would also have a tutor check up. I prefer this flexibility as it means i didn't have to go to college once a week - giving me further time to develop myself.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is supportive and offers plenty of benefits such as, discounted/ free healthcare plans, company car leases, fuel remuneration, free vend days etc., however they also support all staff with any ergonomic/ PPE/ Uniform requirements.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training providers have provided me with all the information i need to pass, to which hopefully i have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The course i was on was a Facilities management course, this does incorporate health & safety, however my job role is much more safety related rather than facilities. If they had another course available for purely health & safety i would have given a 10 star rating.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes the workplace does a yearly family fun day activity, christmas do's and every quarter they provide the workplace with breakfast/ lunch.

Because the environment is positive, the people is what makes it good.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Expect Distribution?
Just do it, i can't see how people wouldn't enjoy it unless your miserable.
