Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-to-day basis my role revolves in currently shadowing my peers to gain a knowledge of how to the 'Recruitment' team work and what aspects of the business is used in this job role.
I also deal with speaking with members of the public, this tends to be over the phone, this can be face-to-face too.
Responsibilities of mine, is to ensure that i have completed any outstanding/relevant tasks that may have been assigned via Outlook email from my colleagues.
I use People Planner to record my conversation from either phone call or whatsapp.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme, this is because no day is the same. I am supported fully throughout each stage of my Apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt all about the understanding of elderly care and how Dementia can affect an individual and their family. I have also learnt in my Apprenticeship how to correctly and positively approach a challenging situation, that i would need to deal with. This would initially be speaking with a customer on the phone. Another thing that i have learnt is how to adapt and work within a busy, hands on office environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very organised, ensuring that each individual is communicated and are aware of what they should be doing throughout their working day. My Apprenticeship has been structured very well, by making sure that i have a set day to complete my assigned college work, this is a Friday morning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a large amount of support from Home Instead South East Northumberland. Support is offered at all times where this may be relevant. I have received support from each member of staff that i work alongside, i have also taken additional training on my learning cloud, ensuring i am aware of what i require further support with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a large amount of support from Home Instead, when working towards my qualifications. This is structured by ensuring that i have the relevant sources and time that is needed to be able to complete and achieve my work/qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that my qualification helps me provide a better performance within my role, because i understand the ways in which some people are living and what conditions they have. Ensuring that i am alert of any needs that an individual has, makes sure that i can politely approach any challenging situations. With my qualification, i have an understanding on how to speak with customers in a professional manner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have attended our monthly events- Companionship cafe, Memory cafe, Health and Wellbeing Networking events and undertaken additional specialist training, that was not required throughout my Apprenticeship.
