Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is very varied and differs on a daily basis. I am responsible for tasks within the Member Services office and to assist the Members with any enquiries they might have. This can be from ICT issues to advice on who to contact for their enquiries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It's not perfect, but our tutor is very hands on which helps a lot.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am very fortunate to have a supportive Team Leader and team and this has made all the difference.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support is available most of the time. My tutor tries to avail herself when possible to be there for us and assist us.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think it has helped immensely as I have always been in a private company so it has helped in transitioning into local government.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am the Apprentice Ambassador for Durham county council. I have also assisted with Civic events after hours.

I have been able to make a difference in my team and I have learnt so much about myself.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Durham County Council?
Make sure you complete the application form correctly and be prepared to work hard and by doing so will be able to secure a career with a large employer.
