Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Producing project documents and files, reviewing documents, attending site visits and meetings, monitoring progress, and conducting surveys. Working close with project and site managers to ensure the smooth running of projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy that you get to learn in on the job training as well as attend university to obtain a professional qualification.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
communication skills and team working skills, how to manage time and work to strict and tight deadlines.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
very well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support by GT, they provide you with a line manager and a mentor who continuously monitor your learning throughout the programme and offer their help and support at all times. There is also a learning and development department who are available at all times to help you if required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There are support systems in place by the provider however I have not needed to use these systems.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel like the construction management degree programme helps to me learn in theory why we do things on site and how to do them correctly. I use knowledge from what I have learnt in a lecture and apply it to my everyday role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
As a trainee / apprentice you get involved in the mandatory programme where you go camping and live on a boat for a couple of days. There are plenty of networking events, team dinners, award nights and Christmas party's at GT. There are volunteering events such as golf days and football days for the likes of water aid.
