Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Basic seamanship, bridge watches to maintain safe navigation, maintenance of deck equipment, loading on stores, mooring and anchoring operations, gangway security duties, launching and recovering frc's and lifeboats.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really like the overall learning opportunities that I have been given. I would say that I am very happy with this career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills and have learnt to carry out tasks that I have never done before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The overall structure has been good. Sometimes there have been delays during the apprenticeship, which is not ideal.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I recieve very good support when at training facilities or at training course providers. At times during the apprenticeahip when on ship, it can be much harder to find help with certain things and be taught.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I recieve lots if help, through training manuals, lectures and classwork, online training cources, external training.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification teaches the basics which are needed to work at sea. However, when onboard, there is a very steep learning curve and a completely different learning environment.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are gym's, pool's and facilities where you can excercise.
