4/5 - Skills Development
3.6/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working with an audit team, with preparing accounts, giving analysis and working with management for audit reporting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the people I work with the most, with the really positive office environment it is always nice to come in

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot of accounting skills, and have developed my excel skills heavily. I have also learnt a lot per the college we attend whilst studying for our ACA exams.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Well organised, you have set bookings with clients and undisrupted study time for exams
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support whether it be on my team, with a senior always looking out for you if you are struggling, and also on a more personal development side, as we have counsellors and student coaches to help you with the non-technical side of working.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Plenty of support, they pay for our tuition and resources, as well as the first attempts of the exams, and they give you plenty of un-disturbed study time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I feel that studying for the qualification does not relay in day to day work as much as I thought, and is very limited in what I actually use for work. This is more to do with the content of the exams though.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Plenty, with nearly a social every two weeks, team events, and a football team so far as I am aware of. There are also events you can get involved in for our partnered charities. There are also plenty of networking events with other firms we are invited to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel that I am very supported by people in my office specifically, and I feel that the working environment at the office genuinely makes it very enjoyable to be in office.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Have an open mind about your first thoughts about audit, and be ready to ask as many questions as a possible, as there is plenty of room for growth and a lot of people at the company willing to help you reach where you want to be and further.
