Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
We’ve only just finished our induction - We now come into work at our training provider and are about to start lessons for our license exams. We’ll be here for the next 9 months doing this before going back to Heathrow for placement. We are training to get out Part A License.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme, my cohort are brilliant and we all get on really well. The managers are really kind and useful and have a very positive perspective on things.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed existing skills since starting the apprenticeship - I had previous hand skills/fitting experience however learned to work to more precise tolerances, and improved my first aid background with a more in-depth 3 day course.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Communication can be a bit slow on occasions with finding out where we needed to be and when during the induction period, however now this has massively improved. I’d say it is well structured, we’re given enough time for tasks, I’ve had my exam and training timetable shared and I have an idea of what’s coming over the next 3 years.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A good amount, management have been really helpful and welcoming, plenty of check in meetings and support regarding extra learning difficulties also, with the company asking what they can do to be able to help me manage.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I’ve only just started with the training provider so too early to say, seems good so far though.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I’ve only just started the course so I’d say it’s too early to say. The course structure and training plan seem to align really well with what will be required in the role though.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there is a company sports day coming up, people do sponsored sports to raise money for BAs partner charities etc
