There are times where you may be in charge of a class/ small groups full of children for periods of time. Also social emotional learning sessions are a responsibility

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
So much. I have learnt so many relevant skills I would need to become a teacher which is my intended career. Some personal development elements weren’t as productive for me but overall a very enriching experience

What advice would you give to others applying to City Year UK
Be ready for the personal development side as it can feel quite intense and individual elements are not optional. I wasn’t aware of how prominent this would be in the programme but appreciate it none the less.
