Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day roles include necropsies, blood sampling and processing, dispatch of tissues and blood samples, set-up of study folders and forms, QC checking studies which I am supervisor for.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the apprenticeship program I am on. It is sometimes a challenge to balance work with school but my manager is very understanding and helpful when I need to complete any school work during a quiet work day. Everything I have learnt so far has been very interesting and I look forward to the remainder of the program.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt and developed a lot of new skills during this program. New skills include routes of blood sampling (training is ongoing for a few routes), and how to collect non-routine tissues during a necropsy. I look forward to continuing this training and learning even more new things.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think it is very well organized. I have one day a week which I use as a uni day to do all live webinars and set work. Each semester I do has two units running side by side for me to attend and then coursework/exams will be completed for each unit.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive alot of support for my employer, especially my line manager. My manager is very understanding and helpful when I need to complete any school work during a quiet work day.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get a lot of support in the way of revision materials and feedback for exams and coursework which I complete towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me more knowledge about regulations I follow and a further scientific knowledge for the work that I complete.
