Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Payments Team apprentice, I support data updates, assist with projects, and help improve processes. My daily tasks include monitoring documents, communicating with team members, and contributing to fraud prevention systems. I also learn about project management tools and continuously develop my skills through hands-on experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This programme has helped me grow significantly. I enjoy how it lets you choose a team to work with for a few months, offering insight into different business areas. You learn from experienced colleagues, gain valuable advice, and take part in fun activities and events across British Airways.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained more confidence as I collaborate with new team members every day on various projects. I have also
develop my presentation skills and my ability to share knowledge effectively
And have improved my Excel skills, from knowing only a few formulas to creating a fully automated Excel document.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The well-organized three-year programme begins with a first year of rotating through three business areas, each lasting four months, with placements you choose. You also study for a business admin qualification. In the final two years, you specialise in one area while earning another qualification related to your role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. Everyone is approachable and willing to help. I have access to various learning resources beyond my qualification, including courses. I'm given one day a week to study and have regular 121 meetings to review my progress and get any support needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of help and support from my learning provider, who is very approachable and helpful. We have regular calls on our study days to clarify any questions or issues. We are given the right information and enough time to complete tasks.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

You learn about new things and knowledge that can be applied at work. Such as project management tools. You also get a better understanding of the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a lot of volunteering opportunity that take place such as career fairs and talks. We also have a apprentice forum every year. We also have sports events that you could take part in or volunteer.
