Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Data Analyst apprentice in safety and security. Keeping the airline safe is an important role in the business to monitor trends and predict forecastings in the health and safety action group, and aviation safety action groups. Provide adhoc analysis and data for different departments of the businesses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I like the programme very much. Step by step we are getting there. I like the importance of the work I do to keep the airline safe. I understand why we need to do it.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Tableau training, AIR training, SQL coding training, behind data basses our ICW platform where our data warehouse 'data lake' data is stored. New policies and procedures. Looking through different types of safety reports.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Placement is good. However the change of managers is uncertain if the new manager can be a teacher to me. The course with BPP can be more structured and detailed. More tasks in the 2 hour class could be added or set homework. Right now the class can be more detailed in terms of a checklist on what we should be doing or need to do. As I'm unsure
How much support do you receive from your employer?

British airways employers are very good and supportive. I like my manager and team who is understanding of the study work time needed for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Training provider can be better and more structured. So far the work has been more qualitative for data analysis work when I was expecting more quantities work. I was expecting more excel, tableau and things. Maybe it will happen later. So far qualitative work has been boring.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the qualification will make me established as a beginner in my field. I feel satisfied. However the work in my team us much more higher level than for level 4. But I am ok and happy.

Why?
Very nice people, a business that understands diversity of spectrum people and other disabilities. A wonderful structured business. The aviation industry is the dream to be in, once in a lifetime opportunity and to be part of the safety teams is very important.
I like the use of different department teams objectives and organisations work together to create a profitable, feasible and sustainable business.
BA just culture, inclusion and diversity, celebration of different types of people I am very happy with.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
Try your best always, don't be afraid to apply if you think you are different. Never stop learning.
