General Administration duties, such as answering the phone, dealing with resident's contracts for admission, discharge of residents, sending emails to relatives and staff, keeping cafe area tidy and clean, delivering newspapers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Getting a wider knowledge of the areas we may cover within our organisation and what is expected of an administrator. Given a sight into how to run a project

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

It's helped to improve my skills and knowledge further, but it has helped to learn a bit more regarding stakeholders and how to approach staff members to the level required for the job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I understand there is a reason to do the subjects in a certain order, but it would be nice to choose the subjects you would like to complete, as some subjects may of been able to have been completed due to them being a daily task in your job role
How much support do you receive from your employer?

At the beginning I didn't receive a lot of support, as I found myself completing my work during my free time at home, not whilst at work due to not being allocated any time, due to not having a full department of staff. I had a lot of support with regards to my business project that I chose, as it's something that can hopefully help improve our home's stats.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Since getting a new training coach, she has been very supportive and helped me a great deal with completing my NVQ. She's noticed the type of learning styles I prefer, but she also sees that sometimes I may just need someone their to guide me on the right track to then realise I know that I am needing to do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has helped me to understand the roles of an administrator and what is expected, so hopefully it will be something I can look to work towards if the opportunity was to come round, whether this is with Barchester or another company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Sometimes I can help out with marketing for our home, especially when we don't have a Home Service Advisor, as this helps to advertise the home in the meantime til we get a new one.

Make sure you research the company very well, be honest and to remember that the way you may have learnt before coming to Barchester, may not be the Barchester way. Each home have their own way of doing things.
