Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves a 4 day working week where I develope the business skills that are relevant to my current placement department. Then on one day a week I have a study day or workshop witch focuses on a learning module e.g. Finance and meetings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my program, I have made great friends having only been on the program for a few months. I have become more confident in a professional environment and I am now able to contribute to high level discussions with colleagues.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my professionalism as well as learned several IT systems witch I will be able to take forward and transfer to other situations in the future.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My program is very well structured. We have ample time to complete all study work as well as maintaining a good work life balance. I would say that I find the pace of learning in the apprenticeship program slightly slow but I can make up for it by going out of my way on my other working days to learn more.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive all the support that I require from the program. I am in a rare position where I have 3 managers. Placement, Line and Learning managers. Meaning what ever support I need there will be someone who can cater to it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive all the support that is needed. I personally don't feel like I need much support while studying towards my qualifications l however I am aware that there is support offered to all apprentice's in my cohort
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learned a few things through my learning provider, however I would say that many apprentices, including myself, will have already been aware of the things that we are required to learn. There are things in our project management module such as using management tools that I had not done before witch was valuable. However overall I think that I could spend my time to better effect on my study days.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

British Airways provides many extra-curricular activities such as sports teams (I am in the apprentice football team), charity events (I played rugby at twikenham in a BA tournament) and careers fairs

Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?

Why?
BA is a fantastic place to work, the people are open, supportive and friendly. The welcoming atmosphere allows new people to fit into teams very easily and are allowed to learn at their own pace. I have developed several skills in a short space of time since joining, and also feel like it's only been a week since my first day.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
For new applicants to BA, I would say that they should do their research into the company and its values. Remember that your looking for a two way relationship so think about wether BA is right for you and if so then you are probably right for BA. And good luck!
