Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as an apprentice varies day to day, but i usually help other technicians while they are completing a job so i can learn and watch how they go about getting the job done. I also clean up where i can in the workshop whenever there is not much to do
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy working on cars and learning more and more so i do believe i enjoy the programme to a good extent but sometimes it can be very tedious and rather frustrating for me or it is just very slow and i cannot get as much done as i would like
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I do not know if i have learnt any new skills but my skills have definitely developed while being trained under my mentor and my adaptability to situation has gotten better so if something does not go the way i thought it would it does not cause me to stop

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I do not know how organised my programme is, I just go with whatever comes my way normally and i did not know that there is or is supposed to be a specific structure to my programme as i was not told there was although when something does get organsied it is done well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i believe i get a good amount of help normally but some days i feel i am left to fend for myself which i do not believe is a bad thing as it promotes me to be more resilient and independent. I mainly receive support from my mentor as he trains me
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel when i am at my training provider (being at college) i am left to do everything on my own accord, as i worked on two courses before this most of the training i know already is it is becoming quite tedious for myself to continue to work hard when i feel i am not learning much while at college
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I do not know if i believe that the qualification will provide me with as much as i would like to think, as i believe i learn more while at my workplace then at my college with the training provider. I have thought this since i started my apprenticeship as i learnt a lot in a short amount of time while working then the time i spend at college.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Halfords?
Make sure to put your all into learning if you work for Halfords as there are lots of training opportunities after you finish your apprenticeship which provide you with national qualifications
