Network Rail are good in providing a plan for the learning of the apprentice for the entire 3 years, keeping a clear outlook of what the future will hold and letting the apprentice know what courses and learning they will receive.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

With Network Rail, I know that there is a huge support network for any issues that I have. There is always someone there to help with all aspects of the role: education, courses, experience and even personal issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider gives all the information that is needed to help the apprentice achieve all of their qualifications. If extra support is needed, there is always help available.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications are always given so that there is a relevance to the work you will be doing in the future. They tailor it to the specific sector of rail engineering that the apprentice is studying, for example, signalling will be given an electrical engineering course so that they gain skills relevant to their role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are groups that any apprentice can join and feel welcome in that host a range of activities and events.

Why?
I would recommend Network Rail apprenticeships to anybody as they are a great opportunity to start a life-long career and they open up many avenues for someone to take. They are very helpful and supportive which is key to progressing and getting the best out of yourself.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Network Rail?
Understand that there will always be someone to support you throughout the entire application process and onboarding. Also, always keep safety at the forefront of your mind, research Network Rail's views on safety and be sure to embrace this.
