Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work within the project quality department, my day to day work is to ensure that parts we make for the new products are built within specification using a range of equipment including laser gauges.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
My work within my team is well structured and enjoyable. My placement programme outside of the team is less organised and i have not had many opportunities to work with other teams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned many new skills during my time in this team, gaining an understanding of the principles of dimensional analysis and problem solving within the context of our parts and production methods.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The support from my employer depends on what it is that i need support with. There have been several issues with the learning provider that remain unresolved (this sits with the apprentice advisors), things within the company I am fully supported by my line manager.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
The delivery of content from the College has been poor in my opinion and this is echoed by the rest of the class. There has been very little content delivered and work that has been marked, has been marked inconsistently resulting in some confusing gradings. As of yet, the learning provider is yet to create any improvements which have resulted in a positive outcome in the class.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The qualification we are studying for has the potential to be incredibly beneficial for what I do day to day, however the poor delivery of content hinders this somewhat.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My team at work are very socially active and make an effort to involve me in everything they do. This includes team meals, visits to a local coffee roaster and walks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
i would recommend Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as an employer for normal work, i'm not sure i would recommend them as a provider for the apprenticeship i am currently on though i think a lot of the problems are regarding my course and the degree level apprenticeships seem to run far smoother.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
My friends are at the level where they would be applying for a higher level job here, not an apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Don't be afraid of hard work, it is always recognised at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
