Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work with clients, modelling their financial statements in excel or reviewing their existing model. It is project-based work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the learning, content & materials in my programme. However, the college that delivers our learning (BPP - Portsoken Street) treats us like children, not adults, which is patronizing & frustrating.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
yes, I have learnt a lot of excel skills, and a lot of accounting knowledge. I have also developed soft skills such as teamwork & communication & attention to detail.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well-structured. Exam dates & college dates are given in advance, and I know what to expect for the next set of exams. The learning is also structured, and the materials are organised well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer understands I have college & that it is important, so they are very understanding.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The ICAS materials are good. However, there was a lot of confusion from ICAS surrounding the new syllabus. They did not give much guidance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Very well. I believe that it is all relevant and very useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are sports clubs & social activities constantly. Our team also does things outside of work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They have been supportive in my apprenticeship, and they are a lovely firm to work for. I feel happy in my role at EY.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Prepare well for your interviews, be yourself, and if you don't know something, then that's okay!
