Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Planning and implementing new engineering processes into Interior Trim production. Also planning the layout of the production system. Opportunity to explore the wider business to understand different functions.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy my programme, some departments more than others depending on the placement. I enjoy the projects I get to work on and the resultant responsibilities. There is also a good social aspect to the job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt planning processes, root cause analysis and problem solving techniques, managing budgets, procurement, etc. Also have learnt various soft skills based on the behaviours of my colleagues.

For someone who is self-sufficient, a structure can be developed by yourself

How much support do you receive from your employer?

When I require support, there is an apprentice advisor always happy to help and takes pride in his work. I also have good interaction with my line manager who also supports.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is minimal support from the training provider. Even when help is requested, it is usually poor.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification gives me knowledge on engineering processes which supports me with manufacturing processes in my role. It is not directly appliable, but it is beneficial.
