Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Initially as an apprentice doing various placements throughout relevant functions of the business with a focus on electrical elements, I have now started my final Role as F1-F2 production controller for B-Shift, which involves vehicle steering, target management and problem-solving tasks
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

from a work perspective it is very enjoyable, Most departments are very keen to take on apprentices on placements and take a hands on approach in helping them develop. from a university point of view there has been some un-necessary stresses due to a lack of structure and communication within the engineering department, and Bringing up some concerns in regards to the relevance of some content in certain modules.

Throughout my time i have had plenty of opportunities too Learn new skills and develop existing ones, Both mandatory skills relevant too my job role, and voluntary skills to boost my skillset and help improve myself within the business
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

From a work perspective it has historically been left up to the apprentice to organise and structure everything themselves, with different departments having varying levels of structure and organisation, however steps are being taken to make this more standardised. The university has been fairly un-structured and disorganised due to a lack of communication and standard between lecturers and a high staff turn over at the moment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Although support is often hard to offer on a technical level for a level 6 degree, most managers are happy to provide study days and time during work to complete university work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Until this year support from the university was very poor, and even now the support is only being offered by the goodness of two lecturers, there is no set standard. Although It is claimed support is available lecturers are often difficult to get hold of or simply not available at suitable times for someone working full time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Overall it has provided the basic knowledge to help form the foundation of my qualifications within work, however i do feel like lots of time was spent on things that are not relevant, eg studying obsolete technology, when it could have been spent on more relevant topics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is plenty available to do at Rolls-Royce, however due to the fact that i live 45 minutes away, it makes attending 90% of these events impractical.
