Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Geometric integration is the department. There are various build phases and analysis topics that require data collection as part of the analysis. There is a lot of data analytics required to help diagnose root cause or monitor changes and trialling. Day to day involves writing programs to measure the panel gaps and collecting the data by measuring the cars.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme and my working environment. There are a lot of experienced people surrounding me who I can learn and develop from. There is always support and opportunities to keep progressing as well as support for my external studies to make sure I can complete my qualifications. a
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

There has been a lot of training opportunities for developing my skills through work provided training and through college. I have developed skills to communicate and present just by day to day tasks and interacting with various people to show them data or talk through the topics to gain an understanding.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The planning of the structure is very minimal and some placements or college structures feel very last minute. When the right conversations are had at the right time in advance the structure can be executed very well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Any time I have needed support for any work, college or personal related issues I have been honest enough about it and got the support I was looking for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support from the training provider varies. Some of the staff are very supportive from the begging and others require a lot of pushing in order to get what you are looking for from them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

A lot of the content of the course has not been directly linked to my work and my role however the most generic engineering knowledge has helped me understand the structure of the business and how things work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have been to a school event in the past. Attended a much broader automotive meeting for national apprenticeship week. I also attend a football kick around outside of work that is organised by colleagues.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
As you would when applying for any job, make yourself stand out and focus on what makes you different to anyone else that is in the same process. Being remembered for something unique by the interviewer will make you much more likely to progress.
