Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Coated abrasive product development working within a Global New Product Introduction team on product improvements including coating formulation development for improved product manufacturability, improved product appearance and improved product mechanical attachment.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
More responsibility than expected - treated like a member of the wider team with my own projects - freedom to explore research curiosities and avenues for the purpose of product improvement

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

On his own initiative he set up mentoring discussions which were clearly positive and helpful connections to make when thinking about longer term development.
Presentation capability, already high from the onset of his Placement was developed further. I received all the support and guidance I could have asked for - as well as the opportunity to self manage and self guide where relevant. Excellent mentorship recieved.
