Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Sales support is part of the new business area of BMW financial services. It involves liaising between multiple stakeholders such as internal teams and retailers in order to provide a smoother customer journey at the beginning of the process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed my programme as it was course work based which suited my learning style more than having consistent exams. The length of the programme was also perfect for my career goals as I have now been able to secure a full time role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed both new and existing skills, not just from having experience in the working world but also through my training provider as the programme was heavily based around what I wanted to learn. This meant that I could also expand my knowledge on personal finance topics.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My providers were extremely well organised but also flexible when needed. My managers were extremely approachable as my whole programme fit around my role/work week. This meant that I was always given enough time to ensure I could complete work to a high standard.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a huge amount of support from the sales support managers as explained above. They were also extremely encouraging throughout the whole course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Collette at Metagedu was an incredible trainer as she was always helpful and encouraging. She always went above and beyond to check my understanding, provide me with endless extra resources and support me wherever I needed. Not only did she help me to achieve my final distinction, she also provided me with many work place related skills which I could apply to any role (particularly within communication). Her workshops were very much based around what I was interested in or wanted to learn. We organised weekly meetings during my EPA period to ensure I could stay on track to reach my goals.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that certain areas (e.g. financial products, regulations and legislation) helped me within my specific role at the time as it was based heavily around providing products to customers. Other topics such as communication styles, conflict resolution or business practices will help me in any role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am involved within networking events across the apprentice network, but I feel that this was heavily let by us as apprentices and it would have beneficial for us to have more organised events within work to ensure we network with different year groups.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They always support your own professional goals as an individual. This is extremely beneficial as it allows you to experience new things and take advantage of opportunities that may not be available elsewhere.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
I would say that a good way to stand out within your application is to have some work experience, whether is it related to your application field of more generally for a financial organisation. I would also recommend being proactive and taking advantage of any opportunity you are given in order to build up a large portfolio or evidence for any future applications.
