Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis, my job requires attending internal meetings and project calls, as well as working on client deliverable projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It's been quite enjoyable so far due to the connections I have made with other graduates on my programme and my team. However, there have been times when I'm required to work late, but that should be considered as part of the job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt new skills, such as report writing and understanding the UK tax legislation. I've also developed existing skills such as communication and problem solving.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
EY has an internal student team that organises the programme and therefore it is well structured and any questions can be raised quickly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
The employer provides study leave for exams, but there is not much support from my team apart from that.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider (BPP) provide college tuition towards the qualification. This is similar to a university / college class and it's easy to get the support you require from your tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
The qualification I take is an accounting qualification, but I work in the tax service line. Therefore, my qualification does little to help me in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
At Ey, there are many communities to get involved in. I, myself, am part of the cultural communities at EY.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall, EY is a good employer (especially for school leavers / graduates who are coming straight out of university), because it can prepare you well for other jobs once you complete your programme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be confident and be yourself
