Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

learn and perform tasks required in each department of the interior surface centre, ranging from preparing veneer to milling around the edges of the carrier
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find it very interesting, however also exhausting. I hope that as I get used to working in this environment my stamina will improve along with my skills

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills as well as developing existing skills during my first 6 months, I am about half way through creating a bedside cabinet at college which involved a lot of new wood work skills, and learning how materials behave and how to programme machines at work is very interesting

I feel my programme is quite well organised, although I may not always know where I am going for my next placement, this is someone who can tell me
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel I receive a good amount of support from my employer in the form of HR apprentice managers, as well as my line manager and apprentice manager for wood shop
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel very supported by my training supporter for lean manufacturing theory, any time I have a question or am struggling with something he always helps and supports me until I understand
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

while my college woodwork may not directly relate to what I do at work, I find it interesting and it helps me understand more about the wood the veneers are made of
