Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Milling parts with the use of CNC milling machines from the likes of Reichenbacher.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy it yet there are times where I feel as if there are time where I am not pushed to my ability.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I’ve learnt how to operate CNC machines as well as how to do basic programming.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The apprenticeship is quite well structured yet with me being the 2nd only machining/milling apprentice there are teething issues.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
They are very supportive and offer me guidance when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They are extremely helpful and care not only for my future but also me obtaining the qualification at the end of my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It does help me learn and grasp a more advanced mechanical knowledge as well as mechanical sympathy but at work I am using CNC machines whereas at college I am using manual milling machines and lathes. Yet, there are times where at work I have needed these skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
On the odd occasion there have been extra curricular activities yet they don’t come around that often.
