Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day-to-day tasks involve daily team ready to run meetings and daily start up meetings, where we discuss what the team is up to. Every day is different and varies from data analysis, maintenance of existing quality systems, and implementing new quality control IT systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme, the day-to-day tasks are varied and I learn lots every day. My team are helpful and everyone at work is friendly.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learned lots of new skills, both technical and soft skills. I've learned how to use tools like Excel and Power BI for reporting and data analytics, as well as learning lots of in-house systems used by RR and BMW group.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is quite well structured, although this depends on your role and department somewhat. The start can be difficult to get to grips and the apprentice team weren't always organised but after a few months everything was in place.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer, all my requests and questions are answered promptly as and when required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
My training provided lacks support. The university team aren't always responsive and communication can be irregular and incomplete. Sometimes assessments aren't communicated well and progress reviews can be delayed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My programme is somewhat relevant, but there are definitely times when I wonder how what I learn is relevant at all to my work. Some modules are more useful than others but I think this is in the nature of the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are some network groups at work, but most extra social activities or sports are organised by apprentices themselves rather than by the company.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Everyone at the company is really helpful, I'm constantly learning and I'm really enjoying my apprenticeship so far.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Show interest in the job, your skills or qualifications don't matter as much as your attitude and willingness to learn do.
