Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves supporting my manager and team in varied Marketing projects and campaigns. This can include answering emails, organising and joining meetings, briefing Marketing agencies, reviewing copy and imagery, supporting with budget and finance within the team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship, particularly being able to work in a friendly environment where everyone wants to help you learn and succeed. I have enjoyed meeting lots of new people and being able to apply what I've learnt from my studies to real life situations.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Over the course of the apprenticeship I have grown in confidence and have developed my organisation and communication skills in particular, as these are both key parts of my role. I have also learnt to use my initiative as I've got more comfortable in the role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well organised in terms of working 4 days a week and then having 1 day a week at the college which is the same day every week. There is no specific structure as to when you can work on your assignments but this means each manager is flexible and we're able to do what works best for us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive lots of support from my managers in particular, as they want us to do well at work but also at uni. The rest of the team and other friends and colleagues at work are also really understanding, as it can sometimes be difficult to juggle when you have assignments due.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have received lots of support from the college when working towards my degree, as while I think sometimes it can be difficult for them to understand what it's like to juggle working and studying, they do their best to support us where they can.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think the Business Management degree has taught me lots of theory relating to all areas of a business, which allows me to see things from other departments points of view, as opposed to solely focusing on Marketing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The business has many Diversity, Equity and Inclusion groups to get involved with which are led by employees and open to everyone. We also have a Charity Champions group who work with BMW's Charity Partner to run events and raise money. There are also social activities organised by different teams, as well as things like football, run clubs and other events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a great place to work in many aspects - the people are great and really want to support you and see you do well. As an apprentice you are given responsibility and treated like a true member of the team. The flexible benefits eg. pension scheme, travel insurance etc is also a great perk.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be keen to learn and grow as much as possible from everyone within the business - they all have so much knowledge and experience which can only benefit you. An apprenticeship will be what you make it so make the most of it!
