Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Daily tasks included sending out purchase orders and amending supplier prices. Was also involved in lots of project work including Corporate Social Responsibility analysis and Supplier Risk analysis, Lots of responsbilities including being rep for 2 shops and supporting them with any procurement issues, like setting up suppliers or supporting with negotiation for investment purchases.

Lots of responsibility and inolvement in important projects.

Main skill developed is communication because of the amount of contact involved with internal and external stakeholders. Also learnt the basics of working in a professional environment; email writing, meeting planning etc.

Lots of support from different areas - assigned a mentor, supervisor and section manager all there to support with any issues. Also supported by the Learning and Development team.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Enjoyed it thoroughly. Learnt a lot in the role. Joined with a large cohort of around 30 people so made great friends with them and the social life was good too.
