Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During my placement year I worked in the Plastics Department supporting production with quality issues, problem solving and tooling. My role involved a lot of 3D printing and CATIA, Excel and Data analysis. I had a very wide range of projects across different areas within my shop and lead multiple production critical projects. I was even given the opportunity to present up to Director level within the first few months of joining and regularly presented to senior management.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given sole responsibility for the creation of a new tool for use in production - completed this from scratch.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone is treated pretty evenly at Toyota, you are well respected as a member of the team and no one treats you different because you are 'new'. Everyone is friendly and it seems like everyone's been here 10+ years. You are expected to work incredibly hard at times and its not for the faint hearted but you also get the recognition and reward to go with this.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my time here, I never spent long at the desk and was always getting involved in an interesting project. I would return as a Grad if given the opportunity! We had an amazing social life with a cohort of 40 placements/grads so I think this was also key.
