Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I complete 3 month placements each varies with tasks and workload, but must include team meetings, work that expands your skill set, shadowing team members and getting involved in group projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have enjoyed the apprenticeship and the placements I have been to, they have all been very different experiences and great opportunities to learn. I have not enjoyed the academic side as much but the majority of my day to day work i really enjoy.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, in this apprenticeship you will learn data analytics skills and digital solutions within your work projects as well as knowledge on engineering manufacturing and specific skills for your end roll.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Unfortunately there as been so many changes within my year of the apprenticeship from academic courses, teachers and lack of mangers to due many different circumstances, which has made it difficult to receive support and a full placement plan.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Due to the many changes the support received has varied a lot, apprentice feedback isn't always taken aboard until much later than it should and the change / lack of mangers has made it difficult to receive support. However placement mangers are great, they offer lots of support and open new opportunities for your career and learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Most modules do not relate to my role within my company however this is individual as most Eng techs have very different roles where some modules are more suited then others for their roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, the apprenticeship offers a great level of extra curricular activities that you can participate in and lead, it is a great way to network with apprentice from all years/ roles across all the UK plants. examples: Charity Champions, Newsletter team and SharePoint team.
