Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I form part of audit teams working on a variety of clients in the Energy department at EY. This involves completing audit procedures for companies of varying sizes, as well as communicating with the client often.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme and would definitely recommend this to others. I enjoy my work as there is a vast variety of tasks that can be complete in the course of an audit which helps the job not become boring after a while.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed many skills, particularly relating to my technological abilities as I have learned how to use different software and hardware as part of every-day working at EY. I have also grown in confidence and developed my speaking skills in front of higher-ups and large groups.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think that there is significant care taken from my employer to structure and arrange my apprenticeship programme. I also want to note that they are always asking for our feedback of how they can improve for the proceeding intakes.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is no lack of support from my employer. I could not think of any other way in which my employer could support me further. There are multiple contacts that are made very clear to us right from the start of people we can reach out to with any issues/questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My employer, right from the beginning, has emphasised the importance of our professional qualifications and there is a definite culture of care and understanding for those balancing work and their studies. I have never found issue with having to balance these as people understand the importance of our studies.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Being a third of the way through my apprenticeship, I can testify to the fact that our qualification relates directly to our day to day work. I have seen how my studies have assisted my work, as well as my work assisting my in understanding my studies. My employer has also requested feedback for any changes that could make this better for future intakes, and I have seen changes happen based on this feedback.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are countless options of extra clubs/activities at EY. These range across a variety of cultures/interests so there is something for everyone.
