Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is a maintenance apprentice and I am carrying out training with BMET College. On Monday carrying out our BTEC day and then from Tuesday for the rest of the week in the workshop carrying out practical work. In the future I will be going on placements around the Mini factory.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is very interesting and this is what I am really invested in this is because I have a passion for my apprenticeship. I have really enjoyed how all the rotas are very organised and I have enjoyed how the programme has increased my knowledge and core skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills that come with the practical's this is a very good opportunity for me to develop all my basic skills needed for the future. It has also developed my core skills increasing team work skills and also increased my problem solving skills. It has also developed my anility to use my initiative.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is structured well as all the rotations are very organised and are in a good sequence that best suites everyone's learning. The tutors are also very good as they are very helpful and are very knowledgeable, this is good because they use their past experience to increase their level of teaching.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is a huge support network around us as apprentices and this is very good as all the help that is needed is always given. This was especially really good at the start of my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is a lot of support around us when working towards qualifications, this is really good because there is a lot of resources given for support if needed, and questions are always answered.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps me perform better in my role as I have already gained the basic knowledge for my role and has set up a backbone for the future. The knowledge that I have gained so far has made me feel confident carrying out engineering tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is many extra curricular activities to get involved in and this is really good to increase networking at work. I am apart of charity champions and this team is really good chance to socialise but also carry out events for certain charities, which is very good to have at work.

This is because the BMW group look after their employees and allows provides the best support needed. There is also a lot of chances to progress yourself and increase your skills within your role due to up coming new technologies such as Ai. There is also many benefits when working with BMW such as a car scheme and also many other advantages that rewards you for the work that you carry out for the company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
To carry out work experience in the role you are applying for and also find something unique about yourself that is different from everyone else. Also show how you can help BMW group grow .
