Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role consists of learning on the job. Jobs such as fault finding for mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Working in three different technologies allows for a vast knowledge of all trades for example welding.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the apprenticeship and think its a good way for people to develop knowledge and skills within the engineering world. Opportunities to network and progress within the business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many skills in being hands on with jobs require the use of lots tool and a good set of hands. Being able to understand that certain jobs are not just as simple as tightening bolts but sometimes there is math's involved to this so reinforcing knowledge on this has been a skill I've developed the most.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think the apprenticeship is well structured and a lot of support is offered. Many of the people working in maintenance are very experienced in the job so this provides lots of support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The employer provides a good amount of support for us apprentices. The employer always offers opportunities to do good things within the business and our training manager offers an excellent amount of support in any problems or questions that need answering.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training had provided a good amount of support in the first year with all the hands on skills learnt on all the equipment provided to use like PLC rigs and electrical boards.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me perform better in my job role because you have that technical background from doing all the work within the first year so simple jobs like tightening bolts if never been done before is all covered before going into the placement.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is always opportunities to get involved with charity events and certain projects throughout the plant.
