Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day at work varies as I move between placements every quarter. Currently I go through the current agenda for the department going the ongoing projects which are determined by future changes to the plant or ongoing production issues. I typically go through current configurations for production cells and identify faults that need to be rectified.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme I am continually challenged to do better every day at work and always feel like I am progressing. Everyone who I work with always make time to teach me about things that I do not understand or go out of there way to show me how things work or to get me involved.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my apprenticeship I have learnt a large amount of skills. I have developed my knowledge in: Pneumatics, Electronics, Control Systems, Programming and Health and Safety. This is through understanding the production process and through a series of training courses and qualifications which I will be able to use throughout my career.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is structured well with the first year centered around foundation skills and a vocational qualification. Following from that we have a year of placements moving around to different areas of the business seeing a different part of the production process.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive full support from my employer I have regular reviews with both my training advisor aswell as my placement manager were they go through my current progress and change or adjust my plan based on how things are going.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive support in the form of regular reviews to go through my progress through my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe the qualification that I do through work is highly applicable to my day job with many of the modules being useful on a day to day basis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some networking activates in the form of: Apprentice Newsletter, Apprentice SharePoint Team and Charity Champion teams.

I believe that the company completely looks after you throughout the apprenticeship giving you full support academically as well as professionally
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be confident in your abilities but not overconfident. Listen to whatever you are told and show respect where it is due. Apply yourself and work hard and you will absolutely succeed.
