Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Respond to faults on the production line and apply knowledge in order to amend the fault and keep production running efficiently. On no-production days, I complete gun replacements, doser replacements, and general repairs/ changes to improve production.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have had a great experience working for BMW Group, working with and meeting hundreds of great associates and learning a wide range of useful skills for in work and outside of work.

I have learnt a variety of relevant skills and developed existing skills to improve my ability and expand my knowledge as a maintenance apprentice.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship for the most part has been well organized. There was some issues in the early days regarding BMET but henceforth has been a relatively well organized experience. I will say there is a lot of last minute company decisions/ information relayed to employees regarding job security, pay information and global company decisions (new models, plant renovation/construction, model construction location, etc.)
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a great amount of support from my mangers at the least regarding concerns over mental health and learning difficulties as well as workplace experience issues. They're all friendly, conversational and ready for a chat regarding anything at any time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from BMET again regarding concerns over learning difficulties and mental health as well as educational support for documentation, exams, and question packs.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification can be useful for introducing you to the necessary skills, but experience on the job is much more valued for progression outside of the training school.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many extra-cuticular activities such as Charity Champions events, Apprentice-led teams, and touring new apprentices, interns, and external associates.

Be yourself. Work hard and be helpful, friendly and driven. Network by getting along with and offering your services to other associates, apprentices & interns included.
