Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Meetings with clients, taking minutes, controls and substantive testing, preparing documents as coached by a more senior member of the team, stocktakes, setting up meetings, studying.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Can depend on the day, but there are lots of cool opportunities and amazing people to work with. The teaching for exams is really well delivered as well.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yep definitely, almost everything I am learning is new - all of the study material (tax, double entry), Excel skills, testing. Developed skills in communication and time planning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is such a big company that there are some problems organising from a central level, which happens with some communications, inductions etc. Your learning depends what job you are on and who with; so organisation does vary.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
If you need support it really is there. One of the main reasons I joined and stayed with KPMG.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Again really good support. Check-ins, someone to always contact, amazing tutors, paid study time, free study materials.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It is still early days as I have just completed my AAT Level 3 exams; it does help, but there is so much outside the scope of those exams which I still need to cover.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yep! Lots of social activities and you are free to start your own; networking events; weekly football; networks to join; other opportunities to get involved in your area of interest.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a really good opportunity, and they really look after you. The support you receive is so much better than university, and you are getting work experience and a good salary. The people are lovely, and everyone wants you to succeed.
