Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Day to day, I work on a project where I support my other colleagues by assisting them with different work papers. I get to interact and talk to a lot of people with more experience than me where they they mentor me and give me guidance on how to do my job and what I should be striving to next
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it a lot, there is a lot to do and a lot to learn. I do not get bored when I have work, and people in the work place are very understanding so it makes it easier to proceed

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have learnt how to communicate with my team and tell them when I am struggling or when I am free to get work. I have also learnt better time management skills by learning to prioritise what is the more important thing for me to get down first and then start going down the list until everything is done and when I am not able to complete one task, I move on to the next

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is some what structured, it's not clear where to reach out for support. But we get 6 months in advance for exams so it is clear when we can book off time, and we get training too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
Not a lot, it isn't clear who to contact. When you do email it takes them a day or two to get back with vague responses
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
A lot, they very good at communicating and they are very clear and helpful
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some what well, the more I learn the more I understand what I am doing and the different terms I see within the work that I do. I feel like since I am not learning at a quicker pace, there is more that I could learn but what I am learning is still useful
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there is. The departments have a lot a social events and there are different networks you can join which are like societies that you can join for culture or interests

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a very nice working environment and there are a lot of apprentices so you can meet new people who think like you. It is also nice to work with a lot of different people. I like the culture of the office and how friendly everyone is but having the option to work from home too is very helpful
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
To be prepared for how slow things feel at the beginning and to push yourself out there as it is harder to make friends here compared to school/univerisity
